LOBBYING


n Karen Price, former president of the West Virginia Manufacturer's Association, has joined Robinson & McElwee's government relations practice as a legislative and business development liaison.


Price served as the association's president for 22 years and has more than a decade of experience as a member of the state Economic Development Office. A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Price earned her bachelor's degree from Morris Harvey College (now the University of Charleston).

n Debbie Phillips has launched a new Charleston-based government relations firm, Government Solutions LLC. The firm will focus on providing clients with advocacy, grassroots communication and strategic consulting support.


Phillips served for more than 10 years in West Virginia's House of Delegates and for 12 years on the Putnam County School Board. For the past 15 years, Phillips has managed lobbying efforts and grassroots communication for The Arnold Agency.


n Lesli Forbes will be joining Phillips during the 2014 Legislative Session coordinating communication efforts and special projects and events. Forbes previously worked with Generation West Virginia on its marketing initiatives and at The Arnold Agency as an account manager.

LAW


n Alexis Mattingly has been named a partner at the Huddleston Bolen law firm in Huntington.


Admitted to the state bars of both West Virginia and Kentucky, Mattingly focuses her practice on the defense of transportation law, employment law, products liability, premises liability and insurance law. She has experience defending railway, trucking, chemical, insurance and manufacturing companies.

n Nathan Brown has been promoted to of counsel status at the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough law firm.


A former associate who joined the firm in 2012, Brown practices in the area of civil litigation. He has experience as a trial defense counsel in the United States Army where he represented service members in a variety of matters.

n Eric Iskra has been re-elected to a two-year term on Spilman Thomas & Battle's Management Committee, continuing his service as Member in Charge of Client Services.


Iskra is chairman of Spilman's Labor and Employment Practice Group. His practice encompasses trial work and litigation, with an emphasis on labor and employment, employment class actions, health care and disability, and complex matters.

COMMERCE


n The West Virginia Wholesalers Association recently announced its 2014 slate of officers.


S. Randall Emanuelson of Team Sledd in Wheeling will serve as president; Jim Cunningham of Goldsmit-Sydnor, Inc. in Huntington will serve as first vice president; Jan Vineyard will serve as secretary/treasurer; and David Ramella of McDowell Supply Company in Beckley will serve as chairman of the board.
