Country superstars and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will kick off the Greenbrier Classic Concert Series, resort officials announced Tuesday.
Lambert and Shelton, who are husband and wife, will perform separately the evening of July 3, with Lambert going on at 8 p.m. and Shelton appearing at 9:30.
The two are the first performers announced for this year's concert series, which coincides with the Greenbrier Classic PGA golf tournament. The resort will announce a second concert at a later date.
"We couldn't be happier to have such acclaimed artists as Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton join The Greenbrier Classic Concert Series, The Greenbrier resort owner Jim Justice said in a press release. "Both are incredible performers and their shows are second to none - making them the perfect performers to match the world's best golfers who will be teeing off on The Old White TPC course that week!
Lambert a six-time Academy of Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year. Her latest album, "Platinum, was named Best Country Album at this year's Grammy Awards in February.
Shelton has been named Male Vocalist of the Year five times by the Country Music Association. He's also a mainstay on the popular NBC reality show "The Voice, serving as a judge for the past eight seasons with his teams winning four out the past seven competitions.
The pair married in May 2011.
Admission to the concert is included with the purchase of a weekly grounds badge to the Greenbrier Classic golf tournament.
Badge prices this year begin at $129 a person, up from the beginning price of $60 a person for last year's tournament.
However, the purchase of a $60 badge last year provided admission to just one of the two concerts last year, which were Maroon 5 and Jimmy Buffett. This year, the baseline $129 badge will provide admission to both the Lambert and Shelton concert and the second concert that will be announced at a later date.
